The Harvest is Ready!

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:37-38

Father God, we believe that you are preparing a great harvest at this time. Holy Spirit, you are working in the hearts of many people, preparing them to receive the seeds of the gospel.

We thank you that you have been making space in people’s lives so that they can hear your voice. Continue to stir up in people a spiritual thirst and hunger for the only answer to life: Jesus Christ.

Lord, we know that the harvest is ready, but the workers are few. Forgive us, Father, for the times when we have ignored the call of the harvest.

Help us to be ready to respond to your call to pray for the harvesters and to respond when we are called to help.

Give us wisdom and boldness to know how and when to share the most excellent news of our Saviour Jesus with people.

Give us the patience to walk alongside those whose journey into the Kingdom is a slow one. Bring healing to those hurt by the church, or who have chosen to walk away as prodigals. Draw them gently back to you, Lord.

Lord, it is your love, which is the source for all of this. Fill us with your love and help us to see with your eyes those around us who are ripe for the harvest.

Lord, bring in a great harvest of people into your family. Extend the Kingdom of God. Bring a great awakening and revival that will change not just our land, but the world!

Send forth your workers, Lord. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
