You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord, the Lord himself,
is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:3-4
Heavenly Father, during this time of quarantine, self-isolation, and distancing, it is hard mentally and emotionally for many people. You created us to be social and to interact. We struggle when that is removed from us.
People of all ages are struggling Lord, but today we bring before you our young people. As they seek to figure out who they are and how they fit into this world around them, everything has shifted and changed. For some, it is not so bad. But for others, the changes and the impact of them has been too much.
Lord God, your word describes you as a rock. The rock eternal, a secure foundation that cannot be moved, a safe rock. Help our young people to build their lives on the solid Rock of Jesus, who is a dure foundation.
Give them peace even in the swirling darkness of their lives as they trust and hope in you.
Lord, give them the courage to take those first steps of trust and put their faith in you.
Bring trustworthy people across the paths of those teenagers who are finding this too much.
Help parents and guardians talk with them in ways that will help to reduce their stress anxiety or depression.
Lord, you are hope. Bring hope to those who need to have hope to cling to. Be for them an anchor that keeps the soul. Steadfast and sure while the billows roll, for it is fastened to the rock which cannot move grounded firm and deep in the love of Jesus.
We ask all this in the mighty, healing name of Jesus. Amen.
